Avascular necrosis of the hip is a condition where the shape of the ball of the hip changes because of lack of or a cut off blood supply to the head of the hip bone. This results in loss of shape of the head of the hip and instead of being spherical the head of the hip becomes irregular causing arthritis if identified at an early stage avascular necrosis can be treated by minimal access core decompression which involves drilling a hole through the hip bone and then delivering bone marrow concentrate Platelet Rich Plasma in that area to enhance healing of that bone.
